The Washington, DC Part of SME
Based June 21, 1918, because the Washington, D.C. Part of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, its first chairman was Herbert C. Hoover, thirty first President of the US (1929-1933), who was a mining engineer. The Part in the present day is run as a unit of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME).
The membership of the D.C. Part is comprised of execs working in lots of areas which can be distinctive to the political nature of the Nation’s capital metropolis. Members vary from consulting engineers, to earth science professionals, to authorities affairs representatives, and are employed by consulting companies, company enterprises, authorities businesses and commerce associations. The Part is a member of the Washington Academy of Sciences.
