The Chicken Dance

Step 1: Open and close your hands like a chicken beak (x4).
Step 2: Make chicken wings with your arms, flap your wings (x4).
Step 3: Wiggle your bottom downwards (x4).
Step 4: Clap your hands (x4).

Repeat this process four times.

At the bridge, hold your arms straight, in imitation of an aeroplane. All dancers spin around the room in “flight” until the bridge ends. (Alternately: At the bridge, link arms with the nearest person, turn right eight steps, switch arms and turn left eight steps, then repeat until the bridge ends)

The dance repeats, progressively getting faster and faster, until the music stops.

Hokey Pokey

You put your right foot out;
You put your right foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about!

Other versus: Left foot, right hand, left hand, right side, left side, nose, backside, head and of course your whole self.

Baby Bumblebee
I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee. (cup hands as if holding bee)
Won’t my momma be so proud of me?
I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee.
Ouch! It stung me!

I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee. (slap and rub hands together)
Won’t my momma be so proud of me?
I’m squishing up my baby bumblebee.
Ewww! What a mess!

I’m wiping up my baby bumblebee. (wipe hands on pants)
Won’t my momma be so proud of me?
I’m wiping up my baby bumblebee.
Now I’m all clean! (turn palms up, showing clean hands)

I’m a little teapot
I’m a little teapot (Point to-self),
Short and stout (Round arms and touch fingertips together in front of body),
Here is my handle (Place L fist on hip),
Here is my spout (Bend R elbow, raise forearm, and lower wrist),

When I get all steamed up, Hear me shout (Remain in same position and nod head),
Tip me over And pour me out! (Tip sideways in direction of extended arm).

I’m a Dingly Dangly Scarecrow
(Duck down and curl up in a ball on the floor)
When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed
Up jumped the scarecrow
And this is what he said!

(Jump up and hang arms out to the side like a scarecrow with legs apart)
I’m a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a flippy floppy hat
I can shake my hands like this
And shake my feet like that

(Duck down and curl up in a ball on the floor)
When all the hens were roosting
And the moon behind the cloud
Up jumped the scarecrow
And shouted very loud

(Jump up and hang arms out to the side like a scarecrow with legs apart)
I’m a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a flippy floppy hat
I can shake my hands like this
And shake my feet like that

(Duck down and curl up in a ball on the floor)
When the dogs were in the kennels
And the doves were in the loft
Up jumped the scarecrow
And whispered very soft

(Jump up and hang arms out to the side like a scarecrow with legs apart)
I’m a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a flippy floppy hat
I can shake my hands like this
And shake my feet like that

Teddy bear teddy bear
Teddy bear, teddy bear, Turn around.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, Touch the ground.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, Tie your shoes.

Rock-a-bye your bear,
Bear’s now asleep,
Shh! Shh! Shh!
Bear’s now asleep,
Shh! Shh! Shh!

If you’re happy and you know it

If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands. Clap, Clap.
